IT'S SUMMER!!

So happy that the sun has finally decided to come out :)
I am taking advantage of the weather, spending a majority of my time on a bench in the garden with a stack of magazines endless drinks. Bliss...

D.I.Y: HANDLES

For years, I have had a wooden chest of drawers sat in my room looking relatively plain. So today, I decided to liven it up by painting cute little crown details onto the top two wooden knobs (of the eight overall). It was so easy and simple, and I think it looks adorable!

Firstly, I stencilled on a small crown onto each knob in pencil (it rubs off easily so don't worry if you mess it up).
Then, fill it in with a paint colour of your choice - I would recommend using an 'eggshell' paint as it is ideal for furniture.
Leave it to dry, which only takes a few minutes.
Finally, I chose to outline the crown with a plain black fine liner to add definition and make it stand out.

If you wanted to, you could paint on other icons, such as gold stars, pink cherries or red hearts.
I am considering painting the remaining handles in block red to match the crowns, and tie all of the drawers together.

D.I.Y: CUSHIONS

I spend a lot of time lounging on the floor watching TV, and for ages had been wanting some big comfy cushions. So, a few weeks ago, I made my own - despite being hopeless with a needle and thread.
Firstly, I picked up a couple of jute gardening sacks for a couple of quid. Then, you just stick an old pillow inside each one and stitch them up roughly, and you are left with some kooky and super-soft cushions, which are both practical and quite cool! I would definitely recommend it, as they cost a fraction of what a store equivalent would do. Try it!

SOME FAVOURITE THINGS

Here are a few of my favourite things, all of them because they are so cute!
The typewriter and bells are vintage finds, and the postcards are from Paperchase. Enjoy!

FIRST POST!

Hi! I am crazy about all things cute, quirky, and most importantly, vintage. Therefore I have started this blog as a way of recording my ideas and finds, and my wishlists for the future.
Hopefully you will enjoy reading it!
